Asbestos Technician

Responsibilities include:

Prepping job sites, building containment, Type 1,2,3 Asbestos Abatement, removal of asbestos containing material, mould removal, minor demolition & clean up. 1 year to 3 years experience.

Asbestos Abatement Type 1,2,3 Certification required.
Other certification and training is an asset. (WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Arrest, Confined Space. Ongoing training provided in both mould and asbestos remediation.
Experience with power tools and hand tools to complete tasks.
Able to meet deadlines and work in a team environment, ability to take direction and work independently.
Ability to lift 23 kg (50 lbs).
Must have own steel toed boots.

Shifts include day, evening, nights, weekends, out of town jobs.

Project Manager/Estimator

Previous knowledge of asbestos and mould remediation an asset

Coming from a strong estimating and business development background, you must have the ability to:

Do site visits, both residential and commercial. Review, understand and evaluate tender documents and drawings, visualize the work entailed, and prepare a detailed plan to execute work in an efficient manner.
Understand the bid preparation process, including quantity take-off and closing procedures. Adeptly calculate material, labour and equipment costs.
Prepare schedules and track progress. Establish strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and employees.

You should also possess:

Highly effective negotiation, communication and conflict resolution skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Project) software. General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
The ability to read and understand construction drawings, purchase orders, and contracts. Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
A high sense of urgency, while maintaining maximum accuracy.
A college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or an acceptable combination of education and related experience.
A minimum of 3 years estimating and project management experience.
A valid drivers’ license.
